The Better Business Bureau® is the business reporting agency in the community. No other organization provides the information, programs and services to both businesses and consumers that the BBB® does.

The Better Business Bureauâ offers tips and counseling to consumers, educates the community on scams and fraud and administers a dispute resolution center offering mediation and arbitration services. The Better Business Bureau® of Amarillo, Inc. serves the 15,000 businesses and 500,000 consumers in the 26 county area of the Texas Panhandle.

The Better Business Bureau of the South Plains, Inc. (BBB) was founded in November, 1954 and is a non-profit membership association of business and professional firms. As a public service agency, completely supported by membership dues and devoted to the protection of the consuming public and to the vitality of the free enterprise system, the BBB seeks to keep ethical practices in the marketplace.

The BBB is committed to the principles that fair business practices are good for both buyer and seller, and that the vast majority of buyers and sellers are honest and responsible. The BBB collects and reports information to help prospective buyers make informed decisions; develops programs to encourage business firms to regulate their own advertising and selling practices; and serves as a neutral third party to help settle marketplace disputes.

This BBB serves 18 counties of the Texas South Plains - Bailey, Borden, Cochran, Crosby, Dawson, Dickens, Floyd, Gaines, Garza, Hale, Hockley, Kent, Lamb, Lubbock, Lynn, Motley, Terry, Yoakum and is based in Lubbock at 3333 66th Street. Nan Campbell is the current President & Chief Executive Officer (president@bbbsouthplains.org) and heads up a staff of six. The Bureau is governed by businessmen and women that serve on the Board of Directors.

The Better Business Bureau® of the Permian Basin, Inc. was founded in 1979. We are a public service agency devoted to the protection of the consuming public and to the vitality of the free enterprise system. The BBB provides a wide array of services to individuals and business consumers. These services include business reports, advertising reviews, charity evaluation reports, dispute resolution, consumer information and media alerts.

The BBBPB is supported entirely by membership dues of businesses operating in our geographic service area. The includes the counties of Andrews, Brewster, Crane, Crockett, Ector, Glasscock, Howard, Loving, Martin, Midland, Pecos, Reagan, Reeves, Terrell, Upton, Ward and Winkler.
